An Invitation from the Tallahassee Chapter of the
Military Order of the Purple Heart
Combat-wounded veterans will be celebrating Florida’s third annual Purple Heart Day at a Banquet special event. Chapter 758, MOPH requests that Floridians participate in this event to honor those who have been wounded in combat and those who were killed in battle to secure our freedoms.
During the Florida 2012 Legislative Session, the Florida Senate and House of Representatives unanimously passed Bills designating August 7 of each year as Florida Purple Heart Day. Governor Rick Scott signed these combined Bills into Law on May 4, 2012. According to the Purple Heart Day Statute, each year the Governor and Cabinet are asked to sign a Resolution declaring August 7 as Florida Purple Heart Day.
